BEAUDY

BeaudyBEAUDY is the new musical loosely based on the classic fairytale: “The Sleeping Beauty in the Woods”, updated and Australianised.

The parallel stories of a small country town dependant on one man for its future, and that of his daughter, Laura. Both town and girl grow and develop with nurturing, until an act of evil plummets Laura into a deep sleep. Consequently, the entire town descends into slumber. Tensions rise as individuals, couples, and soon, the entire community, begin to disintegrate. One young man, having given his heart to Laura, refuses to surrender hope…

Beaudy premieres at the Parade Theatre, Kensington, July 8 2010 and runs for three weeks.

A cast of 16 including Stephen Fisher King, Lizzie Taylor, Scott Radburn (The Four Kinsmen), and Anita Hartmann. Full orchestra, no synths!
